The association for individuals affected by cystic fibrosis has arranged a meeting to discuss the disease.
Chestic fibroza is a legacy disease that affects lungs, intestines and pancreases, which, according to the Chairman of this association, Ismet Jahiri, in Kosovo are affected 105 children.
They claimed to have numerous complaints to the Health Ministry about the introduction of herbs on the essential list of this disease that in Kosovo almost no drugs are found to treat this disease, and that the high cost of costing 1500 euros is affordable to households,
Parents have complained that even hospital conditions for treating the disease are very poor, since no doctor who specializes in this field is available.
Pulmologist Heidi Imer said that the Health Ministry is seeking better conditions to treat this disease as well as to have special departments, since this kind of inheritance disease requires special treatment, without bypassing drugs, even drugs are not found in Kosovo.
