State Chief Prosecutor Aleksandar Lumezi blames the carrying of materials to internationals for not investigating murders that have shocked Kosovo since 1999.
In an interview with Kosovo, Lumez has been asked about the murder of senior LDK official Xhemajl Mustafa.
He was killed in November 2000 near his residence in Pristina, while no one has yet been captured by justice for this murder.
Lumez related in this interview the delays in the investigation into post-war killings.
“I personally examined that file until I was the chief prosecutor of the District Prosecutor, but in the meantime it was requested by Kosovo Special Prosecutor's Prosecutor, who at the time was international for that subject to be transferred to EULEX prosecutors, even today that subject is to EULEX prosecutors”, Lumez said.
In front of Jaryra, the chief prosecutor said he has asked his subordinates to prioritize these cases.
It would have been good to have those cases sought responsibility from those who had these classes and had the duty to investigate these criminal cases. I asked local and international prosecutors to prioritize all cases of public murder. I've also asked that journalists who took place after the war be treated”, Lumez said.
