The BBC has made an analysis of the counter vote Donald Trump received for Jerusalem at the UN Assembly. “The outcome of the vote at the UN General Assembly was inevitable: The US knew most states would vote for the resolution. But there may have been a little more abstentions and votes against expected, something comforting for Trump” administration, writes BBC journalist Sebastian Usher.
“Vota against resolution by powerful American allies, such as France, Germany or Great Britain, can be seen as a slap in the face of President Trump. But all will be justified in the fact that they simply voted in line with the existing UN status quo. There was no pressing reason to change this” stance, the BBC writes, which ultimately raises the question whether the US will retaliate against the countries that voted against it, though, against those who depend unanimously on Washington: “But the real evidence of the vote will be whether the Trump administration will turn threats into reality to review the dinar assistance for some of the countries that backed resolution”. Amid countries that voted against The US was Albania as well. ( TemA
