The US “Embassy informs American citizens that demonstrations in front of the Parliament building in Tirana continue. It's reported violence. Please monitor media reports on changes of time and location and adjust plans as necessary.
The US Embassy is not aware of any specific threat to US citizens or interests.
The embassy reminds US citizens that great demonstrations and events aimed at being peaceful can also turn into confrontations. Avoid demonstrations, and be careful if you are in the vicinity of a large rally, protests, or demonstrations.
Large public gatherings can affect all major entrance arteries in the city in which they happen. Demonstrations in one city have the potential to lead rallies or other public demonstrations in other city and country areas.
