Over 5,000 thefts per year in Kosovo

Besides serious crimes, concerns for citizens have become thefts, which are quite frequent in Kosovo.
The number of thefts this year marks over 5,000, specifically 5264 cases, writes Indexline.
Unlike last year, their numbers have scored 7.96%. Last year their numbers were 5 thousand and 610 cases.
According to Indescsonline police records, even heavy thefts have scored 7.96%, down from 5610 in 2016, their number this year is 4625.
For this year, meanwhile, Kosovo Police have recorded a total of 45,793 cases, out of which 32.538 are classified as criminal acts, while 12,941 cases have been classified as offences.
According to the Kosovo Penal Code, those who commit theft or robbery with the use of force or serious kidnapping for the other person, with the aim of embezzlement of violent property, are sentenced to imprisonment of between 3 and 12 years.
