200 Journalists Protected by Police

About 200 Italian journalists benefit police protection because of threats, the Italian Interior Ministry announced today.

“Today, 19 important measures for the protection of journalists” are reported in an official statement of the media service, which identified 19 journalists regularly accompanied by a police escort.

Also adopted were 167 precautionary measures, which implies that another 167 journalists take easier protection measures as regular patrols in their neighborhoods./Periscope.
