US President Donald Trump sat in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon after calling on China to help sabotage North Korea, reports “Deutsche Welle”, Periscopi broadcast.
Trump and First Lady Melanie were greeted at the airport by a military group before heading to the meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, hostage Liyuan.
The White House said Trump would use the two-day journey to demand that China cut off its financial ties with North Korea and enforce UN sanctions, the news agency “reportedReuters”.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry insisted on Wednesday that Beijing had fully and strictly implemented UN Security Council resolutions on North Korea, but said it would investigate whether there were activities that conflict with resolutions.
Trump is also under mounting pressure from US business groups to resolve trade complaints with Beijing.
