After complaints filed by political subjects for irregularities on the day of the second round of mayoral elections, PACE has made a decision to recount votes in two municipalities.
Under the decision, the municipality of Pristina and Prizren will generally go to the recount of votes.
This recount has been welcomed by the candidate of the Democratic Party of Kosovo for Prizren, Sacir Totaj, who, according to the CEC results published on November 19th, has emerged second in the elections.
In a proposal for Indexline, Totaj has said he is optimistic that recounting of votes will affect changing results.
I believe it's possible to influence and I'm optimistic that it will. But it remains to be seen”, Totaj said.
He believes the PDK complaint has affected the decision.
The decision of such nature is no longer worth commenting on. It must be applied, and there are reasons and arguments for making that decision. We've made a complaint and believe that the complaint has been one of the reasons, while the arguments are legal basis”, Totaj added.
While contacted by Indexline, Vetevendosje candidate Mytaher Haskuka, who has come first in Prizren according to the first results released by the CEC, has seen this decision as politics.
This is a political decision”, Haskuka said.
Otherwise, according to PZAP's decision, the municipality of Rahoveci, Istog and Dragas go to partial recount.
