Albania's Defence Minister, Olita Xhacka, has said that membership of the countries of the region in the Atlantic Alliance, including Kosovo's membership, would solve the security problems facing our region.
She stressed that Albania will soon have its own resident attaché in Kosovo.
“We support transforming the Kosovo Security Force into Armed Forces”, Xhacka said during meeting with Kosovo President Hashim Thaci.
President Thaci has thanked Minister Gacka for the support the Government of Albania is giving to Kosovo worldwide.
Kosovo and Albania have very good co-operation, and we are learning from the 105-year experience of the Albanian state”, said President Thaci, praising Albania's contribution to regional security as part of NATO.
President Thaci and Minister Gacka have also talked about the defence ministry's co-operation with the Kosovo Security Force, which they agreed could deepen even more.
The head of state has said the Kosovo Security Force has been a model of professionalism and multiethnicity all this time, and has expressed conviction that its transformation into the military will be in accordance with the Constitution, the international community and with all communities in Kosovo.
