According to an Air Force spokeswoman, he was fired for allegedly raping his wife and child.
Ann Stefanek said Sunday that Devin Kelley served 12 months in military prison in 2012.
He first sat in charge of bad behavior and was then fired.
She said Kelley served at the Air Force Logistics Base in New Mexico from 2010 to 2014.
He was responsible for moving travellers, cargo and personal property into military transport.
Kelly opened a fire Sunday in the First Baptist church in the suburbs of Texas killing 26 believers and injuring about 20 others.
