These are Serbia's conditions for recognition of Kosovo

These are some of the proposals that have been heard in the debate at the Institute for Policy and International Economics.

For example, the scientific associate of this institute, Vladimir Trapara, believes Albanians should offer formal recognition of independence, but under certain conditions, which would ensure that Serbia returns much of its actual control over its southern province, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.

According to his idea, the agreement was called the “Friendship, Co-operation, and Intermediate Assistance”, because, he added, exactly what the Soviets signed with their neighbours during the Cold War.

He also presented his seven conditions, which he says should be proposed to Pristina in exchange for formal recognition of Kosovo, including the proposal to remain the name of Kosovo, which will be considered Serbia's state, in the status of a constituent people.

Among its conditions is also the ban on unification of Kosovo with Albania, to dismantle the American base of Bondsteel and establish Serbia's military base, and that Serbia and Kosovo will force them to form an economic union with a common currency.

For Vladimir Eisenhower, however, the key issue is “whose Kosovo” or “what is happening in Kosovo, while these debates are in Serbia”.

“We need to pay attention to what Kosovo looks like today, how Albanians live, and how our co-existence” may be possible, says Eisenhower, who says there should be a clear planning strategy two steps ahead of the moment of the status solution.

He sees Kosovo as a confusing environment, especially when he sees the part in which Albanians live.
