The 125 employees of Serbia's Railways in Kosovo, who have been on the preliminary lists of over-intensive technological workers, have gathered at the Zvecan Train Station, determined to stop the train running through the North Mitrovica Line, but have given up after the installation of Kosovo Police, representatives of the Office for Kosovo and directors of Serbia's Railways.

Serbia's Railways workers in Kosovo say they have received a gift from Christmas with their declared names of technological surplus. According to them with the new systematisation of jobs, leaders of the “Zesnice Serbia” have declared the technological surplus 125 workers, among which there are eight workers of the Kosovo Field Technical Service, with headquarters in Zvecan.

“Nowhere is planned today ( Thursday) to stop the train flowing through the Mitrovica line HINA Kralev, with the insistence of Serbia Railways Directors, representatives of the Office for Kosovo and the Kosovo Police, we have given up. We expect answers from the authorities of power in Belgrade, to which we have been addressing since mid-month, to resolve the situation we are in, while if there is no response, then protests will radicalise and stop train”, one of Serbia's 8 railway workers, engaged in work at the Zvecan train station since 1999, Moma Jovanovic, whose statement conveys local media in northern Mitrovica, said.

He has added that once he makes the decisions, he will file collective complaints. Railway maintenance sector chief Zoran Trajkoviq has reiterated that workers have protested and are threatened to stop the train linking Kosovo with Serbia, as they have been found on the preliminary lists of technological surplus workers. According to him, the list, with the names of technological surplus workers, has been handed over to them on November 27th, while it found that it is not logical to eliminate certain organisational entities.

“People have the right to worry because this job has been the only source of income. They don't have anything to work on where to hire, there are no factories, there are no institutions where they can work, their children have nowhere to work. We have addressed with a letter to the Ministry of Communications and Links, the Office for Kosovo, the director-general of Serbia's Railways and President Alexander Vuciq, and hope they will receive a positive response”, Trajkovovic has said, Zeri reports. Jovanovic, meanwhile, has clarified that 10 days ago, contracts that were forced to sign were automatically to be removed.
“have cleared us like a tire. We have been sentenced to death, we just have to choose how to implement the sentence, to death, to hang or to shoot”, said Jovanovic, one of eight workers of the Kosovo Technical Service with headquarters in Zvecan, repeating that workers have pledged to stop the train, only that they are expecting an answer from Belgrade, in particular from President Aleksandar Vucinq.

We're going to stop the train, we're going out with the family and we're going to stop the “train, we're going to stop the Jovanovic category. Otherwise, only one train circulates north of Kosovo, and the one at the Mitrovica plant Kralev, twice a day.

According to Serbia's Railways, 400 workers from Serbia's Railways have been beaten across Kosovo.
