According to the Serbian government, an agreement has been reached during a meeting between China's energy ministers and 16 Central and Eastern European countries, held in Bucharest on Wednesday, B92- broadcasts Indesksonline.
Antic said the first phase in terms of the revival of B1 and B2 blocs, worth about $300m, was completed at the Kostolac Power Plant.
Antic explained that the second phase is under way and includes increasing coal production from the Drmno mines from 9m to 12m tonnes annually and building a new 350M thermal power plant.
The entire project worth more than 700 million dollars, he said.
According to him, at the energy ministers' meeting, it was noted that the co-operation mechanism, established at China's initiative, has two major effects of strengthening co-operation with China and strengthening regional co-operation.
The minister noted that energy security and supply security are regional issues and that they cannot be seen in isolation.
