MPs from the Kosovo Assembly on November 2nd 2015, overwhelmingly ratified the SAA Agreement by law. Opposition political parties did not participate in the vote.
Kosovo Parliament MPs with 86 votes, but adopted the law that enabled the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between Kosovo and the European Union. For the ratification of the SAA, two-thirds of the 120 deputies are needed, as far as the Kosovo Parliament is concerned.
The Ratification of the SAA took place at a solemn session, attended by Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and a large number of ambassadors to Pristina of more industrialized countries.
The three opposition political parties Movement Vetevendosje, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo participated only at the beginning of the session, until they read their speeches against the government and, as the “shortcomings the agreement has (MSA)” said.
The opposition then left the Parliament hall, failing to participate in the vote for the SAA's ratification.
Kosovo in the Stabilisation and Association Agreement is represented by placards, not as the Republic of Kosovo. At this point the opposition insists, which said Kosovo from the European Union is not treated as a state.
