Victims of the event that rocked the small county town of Wilson are between the ages of 5 and 72.
The aggressor was later found dead in his vehicle a few miles away. Police identified him only as a young white man, but American media say he is called Devin Patrick Kelley, 26. Kelley learns to be discharged from the Air Force in 2014, after ending in the middle of a military trial for aggression against his wife and child.
The 26-year-old, according to Public Security Department authorities, was wearing all black and carrying an bulletproof vest. He first opened fire with a semi-automatic rifle at the premises in front of the church and then entered. When he was leaving, a local citizen grabbed his gun and began shooting at the suspect, who threw the rifle and left by car. The press reports that the citizen has continued to follow the aggressor who then got off the road and crashed into the vehicle where the police later found him dead. It is not clear, however, whether the young man has committed suicide or has changed his life as a result of wounds taken by local citizen bullets. Several other weapons were found in the car. The pastor of the church office, Frank Pomerroy, told “A BC News” that among those killed was his own 14-year-old daughter, Annabell. 23 of the victims were killed outside the church, two inside, and another died later in the hospital. Kelley had also been a Bible study teacher, but his Facebook page also shows a frightening worship of him for weapons.
