The candidate for mayor of the Podujevo municipality from the Vetevendosje Movement ranks, Ayet Pottera, enjoys the opportunity he is in the run-off with his LDK candidate, Agim Veliu, due to be held on November 19th.
The Potter expects this confrontation to be crowned with the victory of the Vetevendosje Movement.
He has said the change is natural for a government in the interest of all citizens.
I think October 22nd showed that the citizen may change, and we welcome this change, because a government so far 18 years need to be updated, it needs to be updated, the leadership of LDK, but also the citizen has to look for a different government, which is in interest for all citizens of Kosovo, because in the democratic system, change is very natural, and we're expecting this change on November 19th, which we'll do with the citizens... The change comes only from the Vetevendosje” Movement, Potter stressed.
He has said that five priorities in his governing programme remain, education, health, agriculture, the support of production companies and youth employment. Potter vows and promises to stimulate companies operating in Podujevo to produce and generate new jobs.
Potter has criticised the current way of governing, because according to him, more has been done for electoral campaign only.
And we've now set up a certificates service stand-up, which is more about electoral campaigning, and all projects that are being done in our municipality, are becoming electoral projects, are being broken and gone, without standards. So even now that I'm talking about standards, I also wanted to say in urbanism and infrastructure that a lot of work has been done, even so much work that I wanted to draw out a project to thank the president that the project was made to take pride in, but not a big job that was done not on standards and criteria, but it's done for voting. So there is no longer any weight in assuming responsibilities, we think that any project, every cent of the taxpayers, we do it based on communities”, he said.
The LVV candidate has said that if elected mayor would work for a transparent government, in harmony and with citizens' opinions, so that the citizens are as close as possible.
We will be very transparent for budgetary hearings, we will invite citizens to participate in budgetary hearings to listen to their elected in the assembly on how they are protecting interests or from the line what projects they have for their neighbourhoods or villages. We've also thought about making annual planning where each social group will invite students, teachers, engineers, farmers and so forth to debate their troubles, that during the year we'll certainly have dozens of such meetings to be ever close to the citizen, that we never break free from the citizen base, because we're actually selecting citizens to work for them, not vice versa to work for us, and that's what I'm going to try to do over the next four years:1x>
He added that there has been much propaganda that if the Vetevendosje Movement comes to power, the chairman will turn workers away from work, which, according to him, will not happen.
Potter has also spoken of buildings built without permission, on agricultural land, but this phenomenon he has said will prevent it.
Pottera has shown that so far they have not reached any pre-election coalition with political subjects that are not in the race, but, according to him, are in negotiations without offers.
“I had been pleased that the only coalition will be with the citizen, but we are in talks, to see how they are flowing over the next few days, whether we will come out with any agreement or continue on the basis of our forces and with our citizen”, he said.
In the first round of elections to be held on 22 October, LV candidate for Podujevo Ayes Pottera has received 11 thousand and 6671 votes, or 29,77%, while LDK's Agim Veliu received 18 thousand of 872 or 48.1.5%. /
