“Paradise Papers” exposes global elite tax evasion schemes. That is how it is written today by German media, which refers to the work of 400 journalists who have discovered some 13.4 million secret documents that indicate evidence of tax evasion among high-ranking politicians, reports é Panorama.
German media reports that some in US President Donald Trump's cabinet have been involved. In all, journalists have discovered tax evasion techniques used by super-rich and high-ranking politicians. Data leaks were reported by the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, which received data derived from Bermuda-based company Appleby, one of the main off-site firms, writes éPnorama. The documents, called “Parades Papers”, appear to indicate the link between US President Donald Trump's cabinet members and Russian firms.
The Süddeutsche Zeitung was also involved in the exposure of the so-called Panama Papersʹ for leaks since last year, but in the end, data was published by a number of news organisations in co-operation with the US-based International Consumer of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). Panama Papers consists of some 11.5 million discovered documents that implicate individuals who hide their property in tax paradises. The documents found out how Mossack Fonseca had created about 200,000 companies and listed individuals' names, including politicians, celebrities and athletes, who had hidden their wealth in those off-site companies.
