Members of the Parliamentary Commission for Stabilisation and Association, Kosovo, the EU, by the Democratic League of Kosovo and Vetevendosje have released the meeting after they have disagreed with Xhavit Halit's appointment as chairman of this meeting and with their disagreement to postpone the meeting date.
The summit in Strasbourg is set to be held on November 16th and 17th in Strasbourg.
Members of the LDK and VV have warned that they will not participate in the Strasbourg meeting, while the Commission has continued the meeting without the opposition, assigning them topics to be discussed in Strasbourg.
The member of this commission, by the Vetevendosje Movement, Albulen Haxhiu, has indicated why they have issued today's meeting saying that they are unacceptable to bring the position in relation to opposition members and to reject their demands.
We as opposition had two demands. The first to decide the Headship of the Assembly for the composition and chairmanship of the Commission for the SAA. And so that the planned 16-17th visit is postponed after the elections. Both were rejected by its appointed leader, Xhavit Haliti, who in arbitrary ways is acting in the face of works we have as the MSA Commission. To us it's not acceptable to break the regulations of the House. Because these people are going on with the old one. Almost everything in the country belongs to them. That's how they're deciding on the Commission for the Council of Europe, the Commission for NATO is doing the same for the MSA Commission. This approach is unacceptable to us. It's a violation of the regulation, it's arbitrators and of course we can't act, we can't co-operate with such a man and a Commission that makes maximum efforts to drown the opposition's voice”, Haxhiu said.
She has expressed confidence that this approach of position will be accepted in Strasbourg. He has also announced that the concerns associated with the Commission will follow there as well.
I'm convinced it won't take long. Because even in Strasbourg, I'm not convinced that their approach will be accepted. We're going to pass on the delegation's representatives there. For the fact that what's happening in the Kosovo Assembly for us is unacceptable and that one of the main reasons because we refuse to be part of this commission that has been usurped by Xhavit Halit... This Commission should be worth the rules of the parliamentary commissions those who are elected by the Parliament and the Headship, and not that according to the whims of individuals within the Parliament's Headship, including, the Speaker of the Parliament that consistently violates the” regulation, Haxhiu said.
While, Xhavit Haliti, chairman of Commission for The SAA, it has said their demands will be taken into account, but has ruled out the possibility of delaying the date of holding the Strasbourg summit.
We had our first Stabilisation and Association Commission meeting today. The purpose of the meeting was to prepare for the joint meeting of the Commission for the SAA in Kosovo, which is the joint Commission with the European Parliament. Because of the elections we are delayed in the constitutionalisation of this Commission. And now parliamentary groups have brought in their candidates' proposals as you saw the opposition had a reasonable remark, I believe, as it was, and as is the reasonable decision by the Speaker of the Assembly to speed up preparation for the meeting. And they asked us to take another look at Headship is their request. We will examine with the chairman and with the Priory this case. But I believe the opposition will come to the next meeting and come to Strazburg... But it is not an opposition factor to postpone the EU-Kosovo Commission meeting when this meeting is scheduled six months ago. “, Haliti said.
He has said that members of the Commission may not even go, but that will bring damage to the country.
“We may not go because they don't do us any personal damage, but we damage Kosovo's interests. Second, we each member of this commission have a replacement member. If one of the members of the parliamentary groups who are now members of the SAA Commission cannot come in, he has the replacement he can send. And the competencies of the replacement in this Commission are complete in the vote under discussion with permanent member”, Haliti said.
At the same time, the SAA Parliamentary Commission, without the presence of the opposition, has continued the meeting by assigning the topics to be discussed in Strasbourg.
