The moment the lightning strikes the plane

The plane shortly after its departure, on a day of bad weather, has been struck by lightning -- the moment it has caught the camera -- broadcast Kosova Prees.

Fortunately, the plane has continued on its way.

While the prospect of the plane being struck by lightning can be terrible for the nervous flyers, the planes are designed to withstand such attacks.

Otherwise, on average, each aircraft on commercial flights to the United States is hit once a year by lightning.

Airplanes are built in a way that allows electricity to be passed safely through outer layers designed to prevent shock and protect against electricity.
