Minister of Finance: Here are percentages to increase public sector salaries

The finance minister in an interview for Kosova Prees has reiterated that the draft budget planned for 2018 is 2 billion and 82m euros. While most of the expenditures go to capital investments with a total of 687m euros, or 33 per cent of the budget.
“in the budget has also been addressed to social issues, there will be increases in wages for all employees who earn salaries through Kosovo's budget in line with economic growth and legislation in power... will be somewhere around 4 per cent...Pensions have been increased before a time, especially contributing pensions, while social schemes categories have not increased for a long time. All IMF and BB analyses point to the conclusion that the scheme, which has been urgently in need of support, is the scheme for families in social assistance”, Prime Minister Hamza added.
He has also said capital investments include considerable infrastructure projects, including road infrastructure, school, sports and similar ones.
Minister Hamza also stressed that besides the Ministry of Health, it is scheduled to be treated with high priority as well as the rule and law sector.
With the budget for 2018, he said special priority importance has also been dedicated to the Kosovo Judiciary Council, which has a 12 per cent budget increase compared to the previous year, as well as the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council with a 27 per cent increase in staff growth for 690 positions.
The next year's budget allows for 690 new positions to be completed. This is in order for us to contribute to the establishment of capacity, to the increase of staff with judges and prosecutors, as well as professional collaborators, in order to have a reduction and an acceleration of drug treatment in courts. It has been treated as a priority as well as health care, where the central and local health budget is over 200m euros, or an increase of 21 percent, growth has included increasing the number for employees in the health sector, including specialists, specialists, and a number of nurses. Also, essential drugs are planned to increase by 36 per cent, as well as capital investments in relation to the budget rise by 126 per cent. In addition, education is a sector, where there will be growth of over 260m euros, or 22 per cent”, said Minister Hamza.
He has added that the budget for 2018 has also been handled well by the agriculture sector, as well as the two new ministries that deal with economic development for private sector support.
Hamza said it is working to create new jobs, raise the percentage of economic growth, which enables sustainable employment and address the challenges of Kosovo's economy.
