French President Emmanuel Macron will visit West Africa as an attempt to revive French influence.
In his first speech in Africa, the 39-year-old leader is expected to focus on relations such as the support of new entrepreneurs rather than relief workers.
The state government of Burkina has ordered school closures to ease traffic due to major security measures during the Macron visit.
Unions in Burkina Faso have already called for protests against Macron's visit in front of a European and Africa summit in Côte d'Ivoire later this week.
