Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj says that very soon they will provide demarcation solutions with Montenegro as the only condition for visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens. But, according to him, it is the Kosovo Assembly that will say the final word on the issue, even though the current agreement does not have the majority in Parliament.
However, Deputy Prime Minister Limaj considers it completely unfair and unnecessary to set this condition for Kosovo, leaving its citizens isolated.
In an interview for Kosovo, Limaj emphasises that within a short time they will provide solutions to the issue.
We must carry out our duties, as I said the demarcation will get its epilogue very soon from the Kosovo Assembly. It is the framework that decides on the demarcation and I believe it will take the epilog and then we will continue to carry out our duties according to the agenda we have... but it depends, the Kosovo Parliament will decide, to see how to decide Parliament will be, I believe you know that this version of demarcation does not have the majority of Parliament, whether it will, we will see it. The important thing is that we will give epilogue or response to this demarcation, I believe the Kosovo Parliament will say its word”, Limaj said.
Limaj says Kosovo is lagging behind in the integration process, setting an unfair, absurd condition because one does not have another country. He even mentions the still open border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but which have advanced towards integration.
But, he promises that they will be taken seriously on this topic in Brussels and that Kosovo's relations with others and Kosovo-Brussels should be both partial, unilateral.
Kosovo is definitely lagging behind in visa liberalisation is a major injustice that has been done to Kosovo, we should say so out loud. Kosovo has met all conditions for visa liberalisation, and the terms of demarcation are completely unfair because it has not been imposed on anyone. I said it today, when we're talking to you, there's an open, unrecognizable border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and you know the past between Bosnia and Serbia. None of these countries have been made conditional on European integrations to close the border between those two states, why should Kosovo have such a condition”, he stressed.
Deputy Prime Minister Limaj adds that Kosovo is the only country that has been far behind in most cases without the right and without the blame of Kosovo, and that the time has come for others to view Kosovo as an equal state with the states of the region, until they demonstrate this as the Kosovo government.
Limaj in this interview also speaks of co-operation with Albania in the process of integration and co-operation in various areas. According to him, Kosovo can use the experience of the Albanian state on the road to integration.
“We can learn and take a lot from the Albanian government for the fact that these are some steps forward in European integrations, and Kosovo does not need to spend time or spend expertise of its own but exploit Albanian expertise. Because you know that the status of the Albanian state in European integrations is a few steps forward in relation to European integrations is a few steps from Kosovo, and that it can serve many of our people of Kosovo, the people of Kosovo, the Kosovo administration to prepare the challenges the Albanian state has been facing we spend more easily using their experience and experience to deal with Brussels”, he said.
Until, the meeting of the two governments held on November 27th in Korca, Limaj sees as real opportunities for opening new prospects for developing cultural, economic relations and all other areas between the two countries.
The most important thing is that all barriers, which have occurred in the past, are removed. We are no longer stopped from having a maximum co-operation between Kosovo and Albania, especially by respecting common interest in the economic field. We want our Kosovo-Albania market to be as unique as possible, the stronger but respecting the interests of the Kosovo market and the Albanian market. And the job of governments is to facilitate the circulation of goods, ideas, cultural and human circulation between the two countries, to remove those bureaucratic barriers that cause trouble and headache of the two countries, the citizens of the two countries, and that is the task of two governments and it is the last time that all that can be done is between these two governments to implement by the end of”, to serve it.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Limaj, it is urgently necessary to maximumise the possibilities of co-operation and empowerment between Kosovo and Albania. Limaj stresses that anything that goes to the benefit of Kosovo citizens and citizens of Albania is their constitutional duty, because the duty of the two governments is economic empowerment, empowerment in cultural and social terms and all other areas. /B.
