Limaj rejects accusations of abuse, bias Friday

In his final address in the trial case known as MTPT, Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj, before the court said they would be convinced that there is no evidence involving it in corruption. Limaj said they have heard the word of the prosecutor and that no letter or document has been said [...]

Limaj said they have heard the prosecutor's word and that no letter or document has ever been said to have taken place during the time he was a minister.

I've been saying since the first day that the prosecution will see during the trial that there's no evidence of even one cent that's been misused when I was minister of transportation. And here we are today, two thousand 764 days later that I face these charges, where we are today. You've heard from 2015 that the process has begun, we've passed all those evidence presented by the prosecutor, we've heard all those witnesses and finally heard yesterday the prosecutor's final word, no paperwork, no documents, and no witnesses have been told that even a cent that was misused during the time I was a minister. And it turns out what I've told you, with conviction, conscience, human or professional that zero cents have been misused on my part since I was minister”, Limaj said.

Limaj said he is proud that after two thousand and 764 days what he has said has been proven since no evidence has been presented according to him confirming the prosecution's charge.

He also said that he was given a public trial, and that people and some media have left nothing without doing in a tendency to destroy his personality. Limaj said this trial has begun with a letter and that letter will be completed.

The prime minister said investigations into it started on April 28th 2010 with a complaint Limaj said without vetting it, without testing the credibility of that letter without asking witnesses without investigating documents required by law.

Two things I actually thought about what happened here, I don't know anything but two moments, I don't know what else, two, the highway decision and the airport decision. Yeah, I was pretty determined to continue building the highway. As in the airport issue, I have been against airport privatisation and I have been against that airport with concessions for 35 years, but given 20 years”, he said.

While Karim Khan, lawyer from Fatmir Limaj's defense side, has denied the prosecution's claims in the MTPT case, who has said before the court that Limaj and the others have not stolen 80 cents, and quit 80m euros.

Also, Khan in the final address has questioned the veracity of Mehmet Shkodra's testimony, on which the case had begun to be investigated in 2008-2009. He said witnesses have said Shkodra's statements are not true, but think they're fabricated.

And defence lawyer Khan voiced confidence that if they follow the evidence, his client Fatmir Limaj will be acquitted.

“against the case and against the defendants who is or are the defendants. We are convinced that you will not be guided by any gossip, interest, but will be guided by evidence. If the evidence is considered, you have the opportunity to come to one opportunity and that is to free my client Fatmir Limaj of all charges. And I ask, in fact we humbly pray that you honored would do this and put justice” in place, he said.

Limaj is accused of organised crime and corruption, which has to do with setting tenders at the time of Limaj was part of the PDK and minister of transport. Nexhat Krasniqi of Andrew Shala is charged with the same works. Part of the trial is the Telaku Rescue of Florim Zuka. The indictment has been warned about Friday.
