Italian General Cuoci accepts KFOR Commander-in-chief

The outgoing commander of KFOR, Giovanni Fongo, has handed the job to another Italian general, Salvatore Cuoci, on Wednesday.
At the change of command ceremony held at KFOR base in Pristina, Fongo has thanked the dedication of KFOR troops shown during his term, as well as other associates, including Kosovo institutions.
He said his motorcycle during this time was trust and commitment.
Fungo has said he wants Kosovo citizens “all the best in the bright future ahead, which you fully deserve”.
Attending this ceremony were Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Behgjet Pacolli.
President Thaci said on this occasion that General Fungo is a witness friend of Kosovo and the region.
He has expressed gratitude for his “job to strengthen peace and stability in Kosovo. ”
“KFOR continues to enjoy the highest trust of all Kosovo citizens, indiscriminately ethnicity”, has added Thaci.
KFOR troops in Kosovo are deployed in 1999 with peacekeeping missions. Meanwhile, KFOR has undergone systematic reductions and currently, there are about 4600 soldiers who come from 31 different countries.
