(9 years ago)The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, met with EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Federica Moghrini, with whom he talked about Kosovo's European perspective and path. Prime Minister Haradinaj stressed that with the dynamic established by new governance, the process of fulfillment [...] has accelerated as well.
Prime Minister Haradinaj said Kosovo is committed and is working on reforms in the area of rule of law, in economic development, in education and health, and aims to reach candidate country status for EU membership by the end of 2018. He said Kosovo's European perspective should be clear and open and underlined the importance of completing the visa liberalisation process with the EU.
He said Kosovo has remained the last country and the only one in Europe without freedom of movement and accelerating this process would help citizens and the country. Prime Minister Haradinaj stressed that Kosovo has fulfilled its obligations in this process and said the remaining criterion of the demarcation agreement with Montenegro has started to be addressed with the start of the new state Commission's work.
He said the commission's findings in the final report would be analysed and would then proceed further. Prime Minister Haradinaj said Kosovo's membership in all international organisations should be done without obstacles.
He stressed that Kosovo is a factor of stability and is proving commitment to building good relations with neighbours including Serbia, with which it is developing dialogue on normal relations. Prime Minister Haradinaj stressed that dialogue must be reshape and end with a concrete result of mutual recognition between the two states. At the meeting with EU High Representative Federica Moghrini, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli and European Integration Minister Litera Hoxha attended.
