At the Skopje Criminal Court today, there will again be efforts to start the trial for “The slaps in the Town Center”.
The epilogue will depend on the presence of a total of 14 indictees on the subject. The first indictee is VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski for criminal work “raped”, for which the Penal Code provides a prison sentence of six months to 5 years.
But for Gruevski this is not the first court case in which he will prove innocence. With court decisions past weeks, the number one opposition in the near future will, according to all odds, face three other subjects, charging for a total of 3 criminal acts.
In the case of TNT for the collapse of Fiat Canovski's Kosmos facility, the indictment has already been accepted and the bombs as evidence. Gruevski is accused of misusing the official position, according to Article of the Law that envisions at least three years of prison sentences if convicted.
In the case of “Tanku” for the purchase of a Mercedes of 600 thousand euros, Apel accepted the bombs as evidence. Nikola Gruevski in this case is accused of receiving the reward for illegal influence, where the sentence of six months to 5 years is set.
The same sentence is threatened by Gruevski if he proves to be guilty in the subject “, which concerns the procedure for highways. The act in this case was accepted last week and the date for the start of the trial is expected.
In all, for subjects that have begun or subjects that will soon enter the trial phase, Gruevski is accused of four criminal acts. Under the Penal Code provisions, the general punishment for these works is served from 4 and a half to 18 or more years in prison.
But these are not the only charges Nikola Gruevski may face. The court's decisions in the coming weeks will depend on whether the indictment for the “titanic” will be accepted, on this subject Gruevski is charged with three criminal acts where the lowest general sentence is 9 years.
