Matthew Scolly-Hicks, 31, by Delabole, Cornwall, had denied having hit his daughter Elsie at his home in Cardiff.
He had called the police on May 25, 2016, claiming that he had found them on the floor by chance.
The baby died four days later.
One pathologist says that Elsie's injuries were “typical” of babies who were hit and sustained serious injuries.
