The European Union's Mission to End Law in Kosovo, EULEX, EULEX, confirmed today that it has been asked to take over the investigation of allegations of counterfeiting the State Chief General Alexander Lumezi's jurisdictional exam.
A EULEX spokeswoman confirmed to KALLXO.com that the mission “will monitor” this case.
For two weeks now, Lumez is under pressure from the opinion to provide clarifications about the allegations that have been raised for his 1991 jurisdictional exam.
The issue has also been addressed today at the meeting of Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri with EULEX chief Alexander Papadopoulos.
It is important that assumptions allow room for concrete facts and that this process of verification be completed as soon as possible in order to clear the truth and maintain the credibility of our institutions”, says Tahiri's Facebook post after this meeting.
But EULEX spokeswoman Dragana Solomon said EULEX will monitor the case.
“In line with the current mandate, EULEX prosecutors do not take new cases unless extraordinary circumstances are met. The charges will be taken over by the competent Kosovo prosecution authorities. EULEX prosecutors have accepted and reviewed Mr. Lumez. Mission will monitor the case. EULEX's mission chief has said that position at the regular meeting he has had with Kosovo Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri”.
A few days ago, it was Enver Hasani, who claimed Alexander Lumez had forged the Jurisprudence exam before this issue echoed in the media.
Chief Prosecutor Aleksander Lumez has not yet been declared precisely on these charges, while warning of slandering Enver Hasani.
