The new rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Igor Soltes, stressed days ago that there is no visa liberalisation without meeting the remaining conditions.
He has even stressed that Kosovo's non-recognition by the five European Union member states will be a challenge to it as a new rapporteur for Kosovo.
The connoisseur of European integrations, Avni Mazrek, has also spoken about this as a whole.
He has said that demarcation of the border with Montenegro has never been the criteria for abolishing visas. However, the same condition has been made because, according to him, the border agreement with the neighboring country is at the expense of our country.
“If it were the issue of demarcation of the border problem for visa liberalisation then criteria would have to be set, even the issue of demarcation of the border between common Kosovo, which the process has not yet been carried out. I think the issue of border demarcation is set for Kosovo, knowing it's a bad problem for Kosovo, but to avoid a problem is what's the issue of non-recognition by five European Union member states”, Mazrek has been expressed for the Internet.
As regards Kosovo's non-recognition by five EU states, Mazrek says it is precisely this solution to this real problem.
These five states, not recognising Kosovo, interfere with any political decision that would have to deal with the European Council and the European Union Council for Kosovo. Then Kosovo's real problem, as the European rapporteur thinks, is the very question of non-recognition by these five states”, he has said.
Furthermore, Mazreku has shown several cases of countries in the region that have the same problem.
According to him, there has been no need for demarcation of the border for visa liberalisation in these states.
“So I think for the first time a European Union official accepts the real problem with Kosovo visa liberalisation respectively. The real problem for visa liberalisation for Kosovo is never and has never been the issue of Demarketing because we have practices of states and region cases that have open and undisputed border demarcation problems, such as Slovenia- Croatia, these have open border problems. Open border problems exist between Croatia and Montenegro as well as between Croatia and Serbia, but between Bosnia and Montenegro, and for all these states the border demarcation issue has not been a problem in making a decision on visa liberalisation”, it has ended.
He also added that our country still has no demarcation with Serbia, and in this case, according to him, why, at any cost, would be needed even with Montenegro.
Otherwise, the country's prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj, has declared that the country is advancing towards abolishing visas, but that without full compliance, conditions cannot occur liberalisation.
