From 2013 to now nearly 13m euros have been accumulated in the northern fund, which functions independently outside Kosovo's budget.
At this revenue fund are collected from registered businesses in northern Mitrovica, the Jarinje and Bernjak points, respectively, writes Indexline.
The EU office in Kosovo, in a response to Indexline, has said this fund is exclusively dedicated to the development of this part.
Under the Brussels Agreement, the revenues collected at Jarinje and Bernjak crossings from goods imported from registered businesses in northern Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic are dedicated to the Development Fund. The revenues collected for the fund from 2013 to now are approximately 13m euros” said in the EU's response. Further in their response, 21 projects in many 7.5m euros are being implemented by this fund so far.
According to EU office in Kosovo, this fund brings benefits to northern municipalities in accordance with Kosovo law
. For the time being, the Management Board has approved 21 different projects, approximately 7.5m euros. The Development Fund has witnessed and continues to witness benefits in bringing benefits to northern municipalities in line with Kosovo Law” is said among other things in their response.
