Erdogan: Europe deceives when it says it fights terrorists

European countries are providing shelter for terrorist organisations and are tolerate terrorist activities in their countries, instead of fighting them, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, citing the illegal presence of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Germany and Austria. “They are wandering through the streets of Berlin, wandering through Paris [...]
“They are wandering through the streets of Berlin, wandering through Paris and wandering through Austria. In the European Union, members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) are allegedly not welcome because they are considered terrorists, if so, how can they walk freely in those countries. How can they walk with a police escort?”, Erdogan said on November 9th in a speech at the presidential palace in Ankara, addressing local neighborhood leaders.
Ankara has recently criticised several European countries for allegedly failing to oppose PKK activities, including public gatherings and fund collection meetings, reports “Hurriyet Daily Nese”, Periscopi broadcasts.
Although the EU recognises the PKK as a terrorist organisation, it does not take necessary measures against terrorists, Erdogan said, describing statements from Brussels and member states on the issue as “only a history”.
“Europe is helping the PKK. They're claiming to fight it,” he claimed.
The president also directed criticism to the main opposition Republican People's Party, saying its actions serve only the objectives of the Phoenician Terrorist Organisation (FETÖ) of Islamic preacher Fetullah Gylen./Periscopi/
