The chief of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, Zahir tanan, has said that the largest gap currently between Kosovo and Serbia is the formation of the Serb-run municipality Association.
In the speech given today at the usual reporting hearing before the UN Security Council, Tanin has voiced optimism that normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia could be unblocked, and that process ended faster than thought, Inseder reports.
A sustainable peace process should not be hampered by simple inactions. The state of relations between Belgrade and Pristina has the potential to evolve beyond the unfortunate and long deadlock”, Tan has said at the UN's KS.
Chief UNMIK expressed disappointment over its failure to implement the Commission Association Agreement with the Serbian Majority.
“Brend within the EU facilitated dialogue framework, technical implementation requires a more meaningful commitment on both sides. The most visible gap is the lack of progress towards implementing the adopted Association Agreement of the Serb Majority municipalities”, Tan said.
