The local level investment promises have already reached billion values, although with the same avaz of promises, it is expected to continue in the last two days of the campaign, the newspaper “Zer” writes today.
The state of Kosovo will go bankrupt if only some mayoral candidates in the country are promised to invest.
One country, which has the annual budget of 2 billion euros, in a municipality within a four-year term in the runoff campaign is promised over 1.2 billion euros in investments without including investment and spending needs in 37 other municipalities, as well as expenses for central-level institutions.
Although some candidates for mayors are changing over the years, their strategy for coming to power is not changing.
On the contrary, most of the candidates for mayors are continuing to keep up with earlier ones by making electoral campaign unattainable promises to be realised.
Although the second round campaign has been under way for two days, candidates have begun with tremendous promises, increasing the budget of their municipalities.
