With the completion of the process of demonstrating the Albanian Army's old ammunition and weapons, several weapons plants and ammunition in the country have already been left without any activity.
For this reason, the Ministry of Defence and the government have thought that these plants would be restored to work through partnerships with privates, as well as with firms producing weapons and ammunition from developed NATO member countries, it broadcasts Tch.
Such is the project that is expected to be implemented at the Elbasan Medical Plant, for which a prominent Italian ammunition company has shown interest.
This is an investment that amounts to about $25m and will employ about 150 people in a first phase. This is a leading firm in Europe for weapons and ammunition, and it would be an extraordinary opportunity to re-volve the medical plant”, said Defence Minister Olta Gacka.
The defence ministry welcomes such projects and business plans for the country's other military plants as well.
