Sheriff Joe Tackitt confirmed there are multiple casualties.
Witnesses say that a person had entered the church and opened fire shortly before 11:30.
Police have yet to provide an exact number of victims, but witnesses say at least 20 people have been affected by the shooting.
According to police, the suspect has been shot and passed away and no longer has an active gun threat.
