Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has immediately opposed the European Union for statements that Kosovo is case “sui generis”, and that it cannot be compared to Catalonia.
He said he read this report more than ten times and that there's still confusion.
“As president of Serbia, I am in a difficult situation after the European Commission report. I've read the report ten times so there won't be confusion”, Vuciq said.
I saw my colleagues' response and they all talked about Serbia. Everyone thinks this is a major injustice”, the Serbian president has declared, after meeting with representatives of the states of Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.
Vuciq stressed that the European Union cannot speak for the case “sui genersis”.
He has commented also on Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's statements that Albanians in southern Serbia should be granted Albanian citizenship and passports.
“We know that there are Albanians in central Serbia, there are more Serbs in central Kosovo. They can all speak as long as they have defenders abroad. We are forced to suffer”, Aleksandar Vuciq said.
European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic has declared earlier that Catalonia and Kosovo are two cases that cannot be compared.
