Vetevendosje candidate for Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti has managed to increase the number of votes in the 2017 elections compared to those in 2013.

In 2013, Ahmeti had entered the runoff race as the second, with 27 thousand and 415 votes, or 31.8%. This result, Vetevendosje's candidate, had reached the first round of local elections in 2013.

In the October 22nd elections, Ahmeti is ranked first among the eight candidates for Pristina chairman.

Ahmeti has received 34 thousand and 407 votes, or 43.49%.

Vetevendosje's candidate will be challenged in the second round of elections by Arba Abashi from the Democratic League of Kosovo.

Vetevendosje has also increased in votes for municipal assemblies. Yet candidate Ahmeti has received more votes than Vetevendosje's list for the assembly.

By 2013 he had won only 16 thousand and 14 votes, or 20,15%. In the 2017 elections, Vetevendosje has managed to win 24 thousand and 156 votes, or 31,81%.

Shpend Ahmeti has also commented on Facebook, which writes about the rise of VVA in Pristina.

He says reforms will continue and there will be no return to the period before 2013. He says the road ahead in Pristina is clear.

His full post:

The road ahead in Pristina is clear. Reforms continue, no return to the period before 2013. The rise in the Municipal Assembly as the first political subject in the capital (doubled) and the increase in the presidential vote strengthens this road.

Thank you all for your support, happy messages last night. /Periscopi/
