It also sent this message to students of the University of Pristina Faculty of Jurydical “Hasan Pristina”, where the stimulus of local elections has been held.
Before the students, the CEC chairman has also shown a brief history of the post-war election process in Kosovo.
I want to make a call on behalf of the CEC that all political subjects, candidates and their supporters abide by laws, respectively, the code of courtesy. This is the only way and the right way to serve free and democratic elections. We must keep in mind that we will have observers from different parts of the world and should continue to show our example of free and democratic elections. I am also glad that today we are sharing our messages on the value and importance of the right to vote. Of course, these terms are common in your field of study. So let's not forget that you're law students, and you've certainly learned about the importance of elections and all democratic systems and how they should be organised”, Daka said.
It has also particularly invited all students to exploit their constitutional right to vote.
Allow me to ask all the students as well as the other students who are not here to use the constitutional right that you all enjoy on October 22nd. All together, we must make continued efforts to strengthen democracy and move our country forward through elections”, Daka said.
The history of the post-war Kosovo elections, according to Daka, has started since 2000, when elections were organised the first time for the Municipal Framework and behind them for the Kosovo Assembly.
Even during this period of nearly two decades, Kosovo has noted great progress in the field of elections.
According to her since then, there have been visible improvements such as increasing credibility, in the electoral process, implementation with integrity, increasing voter participants in the election modernisation of services, were just some of the many aspects of which the CEC remains dedicated every time.
