Public Security Secretary Hector Pesquera has said the storm was the crucial factor for new deaths detected.
A death had occurred in the central city of Cagua, when a person was unable to obtain dialis because the storm stopped electricity.
The other death involved a person who could not treat his respiratory problem as well as the consequences of hospitals after the hurricane.
Pasquera said that the death toll from the aftermath of the storm could increase steadily.
Hurricane Maria hit American territory on September 20th, much of Puerto Rico has lost electricity.
