Avni Melenica, representative of the non-governmental organisation “Smart” after the break of the contract with the Vushtrri municipality is suspected of fraud.

Melenica and this organisation had claimed responsibility for hiring 25 educators on a project but failed to pay them monthly salaries.

“Smart” had contracted work contracts for every working place at the pre-school level for six months, while educators of this project had started work in September this year.

Based on information from the Directorate of Education, lessons at the pre-school level under this project have been developed normally, but by the month of October neither are salaries of educators.

For failing to impose their salaries, employees have filed the case with the police, accusing Avni Melenica of fraud.

Avni Zahiti, Police spokesperson in the Mitrovica region, has confirmed KALLXO.com allegations against Melenica.

The case is being opened in the police and investigated as suspected of fraud. We are getting the teacher's statements, the case is continuing to be investigated”, Zahit said.

After giving a statement to the police, Avni Melenica himself accepted it.

I was in the police station at the Randa Crime Department with a statement two days after the contract was cut. The case is in the Randa Crime Department, procedures have been initiated and now confirm whether the case is for the prosecutor, whether or not to go further”, Melenica told KALLXO.com

Organization “Smart “was prior to employing 25 educators this year, while in the next four years, this number would be added by another 20.

Educators would receive 350 euros per month, while for the next five years for their salaries it would take 420 thousand euros.

This co-operation agreement was signed on July 21, 2017, for the creation of pre-school jobs in Vushtrri municipality schools.
