A 15-month-old baby died this morning as a result of the measles epidemic. Baby from the Community RAE had remained under health care for several days at the Infectious Clinic at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo.
Three more children of measles are being treated by the same family. Meanwhile, there are other families whose children are treated in this clinic. There are also dozens of other children in this community who are coming to seek help from the epidemic at the Infectious Clinic.
Dozens of children of Roma communities, Ashkali and Egypt, are seeking help from the measles ' disease at the Infectious Clinic located at QKUKUK. Families of this community are home to clinics by five children who have measles.
Sable Kastrat, from the town of Fushe Kosovo, died this morning of a 15-month-old baby from measles disease. She won't be able to attend her baby's funeral because she has to stay at the Infectious Clinic to care for her two other children, who have this epidemic and are found lying in this clinic.
Ms. Kastrati says that even the most basic drugs are forced to buy themselves.
With the date 2 is the vaccine. We've been at the hospital with the kids for days. But we have to buy our own drugs”, she says.
Meanwhile, there are other families who are seeking healing at the Infectious Clinic. The Bajrami family today has brought its five children with this epidemic.
We brought five kids to the hospital today. Neither of them have been vaccinated”, says Musa Bajrami from the Fushe-Kosovo municipality.
And in the meantime, only at the Infectious Clinic in QKUK over 100 people are receiving treatment as a result of the measles epidemic. Of these two are in serious health condition, a person 37 years old and a baby. The most vulnerable are babies and belong to the community RAE, leads the Fushe-Kosovo region and the Lipjan region.
