And a Catalan government official told the BBC that his government would move ahead with the independence debate in Parliament.
“Parliament will discuss, parliament will meet”, said Catalan Foreign Affairs chief Raul Rome.
Any efforts the Spanish government took to undermine the referendum have proved completely useless, but also against productive”, he said.
