The attack was carried out by a student who was suspended from school, the school principal said. He is accused of returning to boarding school with two associates.
Besides killing six people, witnesses say he raped two students and injured 18 other students.
Local media report that the prime suspect was later lynched by a group of people who entered the police station where he was being held.
