Equipment of Kosovo citizens with Albanian passports, as President Hashim Thaci asked his counterpart Ilir Meta days ago, would diminish Kosovo's sovereignty.
So stated in an interview with the newspaper “Voice” US analyst for the Balkans Daniel Serwer, adding that despite such demand Albania will not grant passports to Kosovars, as he says, for fear of returning its perspective to the European Union.
Serwer has also spoken of Thaci's criticism of internationals for the Special Court during this interview.
According to him, if the KLA wants to be remembered for good its supporters should not protect human rights abuses committed by its members.
Asked whether Serbia would be forced to recognise Kosovo's independence in exchange for EU membership, Serwer has said recognition should happen even sooner.
“It should not be bilateral recognition, but may instead come in the form of UN membership and exchange of diplomatic ambassadorial level representatives”, Serwer has said, among other things, during the <x2Zerin” interview.
