Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin says his country should no longer be ashamed of the crimes it committed in Kosovo.
He has praised General Vladimir Lazarevic, who was sentenced to 14 years in prison for war crimes in Kosovo.
Such a statement has not escaped the American media who quoted Vulin.
The time of shame has passed. It's time for pride”, Vulin said in Nis.
Lavarevic, commander of Serb troops during the war in Kosovo, who was responsible for more than 10,000 people killed and thousands of others displaced, was released from prison after serving 2/3 of his sentence.
Vulin said Lazarevic and other Serb soldiers in Kosovo have reason to be seen as the best of the best and bravest of the bravest”.
