A new type of flu, H3N3, could spread to Kosovo as well. Kosovo's Public Health Institute appeals citizens over the age of 65, those with chronic illnesses and those with poor immunity, to be vaccinated against the flu. This year, OVR and I The KPS has provided 85 thousand doses of flu vaccine to increase and 500 doses for children, Dr. Naser Ramadani, director of I KPS.
What's the situation these days with measles?
Naser Ramadani: The measurable epidiomological situation is under full control from IKSHP, given that measles as seasonal diseases in reality epidiomologically and that spread on respiratory routes have not been present in Kosovo in recent years, according to the U.S.
Thanks to the expanded vaccine and high degree vaccine programme in Kosovo.
According to official statistics, about 95% of children are functioning. This is a success that has prevented epidemics, not just for measles but also for 10 prevenable diseases.
This year, however I KSHP in its labs has diagnosed 98 potential measles cases. The Part of the Diagnosed Are Community Children RAE, repatriated children that were all unexplored.
What are the early marks of measles? In addition to signs on the skin, what other symptoms do measles give?
Naser Ramadani: Given that measles are respiratory diseases, several red slips on the skin are presented that can easily be identified. But the child usually has a fever and may even have a high body temperature, general muscle fatigue, fatigue, severe state of life, can get worse in breathing, and it can go to lung combustion.
In multiple complications, it can spread into the cypas or wrappings of the brain and thus cause complications in the central nervous system.
Which ages of children are most endangered?
Naser Ramadani: It is usually said that measles can fall on young children even after the age of 12 months. That's why in our vaccination calendar we've given us 12 months of age, when the child has to take a dose of measles and a combination for three infectious diseases, not only for measles but also for robeole and scythes, or gougs. This dosage is regularly given on the vaccination calendar at all major family medical centres throughout the territory of Kosovo. Given that at times, for various causes, weakened and fluctuated immunity is transferred to the child's immunity, at 12 months of age the fruit vaccine is thought to be given because by the age of 12 it is thought that immunity.
Born to mother, he does not allow children to be sick of measles. So we have assigned this age to become vaccination. Other vaccines - for other Preventable diseases - are younger, starting from birth.
Doctor, how should citizens respond if they see signs of fruit in their children?
Naser Ramadani: I want to make an explanation that these 98 cases have not been filed in the last month. But these cases have been submitted since March and April, in a spordical way, and I repeat those children who have not been vaccinated. Given that 95% of the children in Kosovo have been vaccinated, while the remaining 5 %s are children who were either not in Kosovo, or have been refugees, or children of the RAE community. In view of this small number of unexplored children and the spread of disease in a sporadic way, then I mean, all children should be involved in the vaccine. I'm saying that Kosovo ranks with high percentages of vaccine and among the highest health system successes. We're interested in vaccinating every child, because unexcused children have a potential risk of becoming measurable at a certain age.
That way, we have to do everything we can to find all the children, even though there are many problems, especially in the community. RAE, because they don't have a certain address, they move from place to place. Even we have gone so far, as in co-operation with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to search for these children who may be registered with different names in Kosovo, with different names in Serbia and with different names in Macedonia.
So it's very difficult to find these kids at the moment to act. Even so, community children RAE, particularly concentrated in Fushe Kosovo, in Obilic, Mitrovica, and in some other countries have begun to vaccinate and yesterday at the Fushe Kosovo health house, we have had over 500 interested children vaccinated.
Doctor, how much danger is there in Kosovo for other diseases of the season, how much are you prepared to cope with autumn and winter?
Naser Ramadani: We in the Institute gather all cases of diseases from all health institutions in Kosovo, and we always know in advance that in the autumn season we have an increase in infectious diseases, especially those of respiratory leafing, or breathing. And in the course of this, the most typical disease, besides measles, is the seasonal flu. In view of this year's graupe and MSH have provided 85 thousand doses to grow and 500 doses for children, in case of epidiomological specifications, to be processed in order to protect themselves from seasonal flu, it's the common flu, but it knows how to get worse every now and then, like the flu pandemic in 2009, when it's been a serious situation across the world.
The world.
In view of this, we recommend the population, especially those over the age of 65 and all chronically ill and weakened immunity, that they should definitely take the vaccine against seasonal flu, because they are protected by form flu anymore.
Heavy, that could appear this year. We have data that in the southern hemisphere, when the first cases are presented in the spring of the flu, a new type of H3N3 flu has been presented, which can cause serious indicators. Hence, citizens of the aforementioned categories pray
It works.
