Rikalo issue could strain situation in Kosovo

Protests warned by Vetevendosje Movement MP Donika Kada-Bujupi to dismiss Minister Ricardo, following the fall of the motion by PAN deputies, could lead the country into a tense situation, similar to that of 2004, analysts say.

LDK parliamentary group chief Avdullah Hoti at Tuesday's parliamentary session proposes the dismissal of Agriculture Minister Nenad Rikalo following public accusations of neighborhood residents “Dardani” that he has mishandled Albanians during wartime, but Haradinaj strongly rejected the motion with the argument that justice institutions have offered him no evidence concerning alleged charges by 20 witnesses.

Vetevendosje warns protests

Otherwise, in Tuesday's intervention, 40 ruling coalition deputies voted against the proposal for the dismissal of Rikallos, while the pro voted only 27 out of a total of 58 deputies from the two opposition parties.
