Any declaration of independence from Catalonia will have no effect, Spain's prime minister, Mariano Rajoy, has said, adding that he does not rule out the suspension of autonomy for the Catalan region, writes the BBC, conveys Klan Kosova.
In an interview for the newspaper El Pais, Rajoy has declared that he rules out any interference of a third party in resolving the crisis.
Earlier, hundreds of people have marched through major cities against Catalonia's independence and Spain's unification.
The demonstrations were made in response to the referendum in Catalun, where over two and a half million voters cast their vote in favour of separation from Spain.
