In a statement to the media, this prosecutor has said he will not be interviewed by political statements. “Crime Processor [...]
In a statement to the media, this prosecutor has said he will not be interviewed by political statements.
“The Red Crimes Procurory re- heats up its stance that political statements have not been intimated and cannot intigulate its investigative activity. The Randa Prosecutor for Crime makes it clear that, from the beginning of this investigation, he would face frontal political blows because the person under investigation is former Interior Minister and currently deputy of the Albanian Parliament.
But that did not prevent him from addressing Albania's Parliament at all with the request for authorisation for the arrest of the person under investigation. Since, in the assessment of prosecutors in the case, there are the legal conditions and circumstances that need to be taken in the specific form of the structured criminal procedure code, as well as the post-corruption “Narcotics Trafficking, carried out in co-operation, in the specific form of the structured criminal group, as well as the post-corruption “high officials....”.
All that was publicly declared by the prime minister of Albania. The Morning of the Moon, Eddie Rama. 23.10.2017) goes against what has been declared for two years to reform the justice system.
In his speech, the prime minister, in the quality of the president of the political subject he is running, expressed his opinion and appreciation on the evidence presented secretly by the Prosecutor for the Criminal Tribunal at the Council of Mandas and Immmunitys in Albania's Parliament.
So in public, the prime minister took the role of the court, an attribute that does not belong either to the Constitution or by law. In our assessment, this public position of the prime minister is a clear signal that the fight against high-level corruption, whose goal was the adoption of the Justice Reform, will be controlled by politics.
The Randa Crime Prosecutor has had the pleasure -- some time ago -- to hear the experience of her counterparts in Croatia, whose investigations, launched for an hour of hand, ended with the arrest of, further, with the sentence of the country's former prime minister. Similar successful experiences have also taken place in countries like Romania and others.
The Randa Crime Prosecutor is convinced that the entire Albanian political factor, supported by even the most important international partners, drafted the Justice Reform, having as a successful guide Croatian and Romanian experience, which helped them integrate into the European Union.
If the prosecution's investigation is to be accompanied by flagrant policy interference, then the goal of the Justice Reform to fight corruption and impunity at high levels will be a challenge that will not be met successfully.
However, its investigation is under way, both in concrete cases and other cases of organised crime and structured criminal groups. Political statements and, especially indirect pressures with the Veting process, cannot and will not affect the investigative processes”, the prosecution's statement said.
