Minister Beqaj says Fund for Innovation and Intervention (Video) will be established

Minister Beqaj has said the ministry will do the support and stimulus of innovative ideas to increase competitiveness in the domestic and international market.

“As the Minister of Innovation and Intervention, we will create the Fund for Innovation and Undertaking, which will be in tens of millions of euros, where it will help young people and young women who are in business and have ideas where they will be treated, tested and if it becomes successful as the ministry company will conduct until it is ready to go out and compete with its <x1 products, he has indicated.

Beqaj has said the fund will be in the budget of 2018, while waiting for absorptions from the private sector for innovative ideas.

Also, according to him, the Ministry of Innovation and Enterprises will support small and medium-sized enterprises that have ideas about productivity innovation that need training and professional support to increase their exports.

The Fund's focus will be in three segments: Education for entrepreneurship, complement of legal infrastructure, and the Strategy and Law for Innovation and Intervention will be drafted, and the establishment of regional business centres with a direct support of businesses that have innovative ideas will be supported.

Kosovo's “people are deeply entrepreneurial but need support. Even during my visits to the ICK, the UBT saw very interesting and innovative ideas”, Beqaj said.

With this year's budget revision, he has shown that they have secured the budget enough to establish and functionalise the minister for innovation and entrepreneurship, financially supporting several small innovative ideas.

Minister Besim Beqaj has said that selection of ideas for support will be made by international mechanisms.
